A cross-section of the work rather than one job start to finish. Block paving and tarmac drives, sandstone patios and paths, steps, walling and the odd pizza oven. Seeing completed work locally is how most people choose us, and these are the jobs to judge us on.
What a photograph cannot show you is the part that decides whether any of it is still flat in ten years. Every drive and patio here was dug out to formation and built back up on a sub-base compacted in layers, 200mm on a typical drive and deeper where the ground was made up. The edgings went in on concrete and were haunched before a single block or flag was laid, including across the mouth of the drive where the wheels cross it every day. Falls were set to take water away from the house, with new channel drains across the front where the ground ran the wrong way.
The materials are the ones you can see: Marshalls Tegula drivesett kerbs and block pavers, sandstone flags and setts, Indian stone treads on the steps. Tarmac surfacing is laid by our partners. Really pleased with the work that Mark has done for us. Very straight forward and reliable from initial contact through to completion and payment for the work. A really strong attention to detail and work ethic. Kept the site clean and tidy throughout even during some very wet weather.
