Cookie Policy
Last updated: 25 August 2026
This cookie policy explains how Hemsley Building Services uses cookies on hemsleybuildingservices.co.uk. We comply with the UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) and the UK GDPR. The Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) is the UK regulator for these rules.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help the site remember your preferences and understand how it is used.
Cookies we use
Strictly necessary cookies
Required for the site to work, for example remembering your cookie consent choice. These do not require consent under PECR. Always on.
Analytics cookies (consent required)
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how people find and use the site, so we can improve it. It sets cookies in your browser and your IP address is anonymised before it is stored.
If you accept, we also record two actions: sending the quote form, and tapping a phone number. That tells us which services people enquire about and how they prefer to get in touch. We record the type of job, not who you are. Your name, email address, phone number and postcode are never sent to Google.
It is off by default. Nothing is loaded and no cookie is set unless you press Accept on the banner. If you decline, or simply ignore the banner, Google Analytics never runs.
Separately, we use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page views. That one is cookieless, stores no personal identifiers, and cannot be used to follow you around the internet, so it runs for everyone and needs no consent.
Managing your consent
You can accept or reject non-essential cookies using the banner that appears on your first visit. You can change your choice at any time by clearing your browser's local storage for this site, after which the banner will reappear.
Your rights
You can also use your browser's settings to block or delete cookies for any website. Most browsers let you control cookies through their settings page. Search "cookie settings" plus your browser name for instructions.
Complaints
If you have concerns about our use of cookies, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk. We would appreciate the chance to address your concerns first.
